Terms of Service

By using pdftoolz.io (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The service

pdftoolz provides online PDF processing tools including merging, splitting, compressing, converting, and editing PDF files. The Service is available on a free tier (with usage limits) and a paid Pro tier (with higher limits and additional features).

2. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for lawful purposes only. You must not:

• Upload files that contain malware, viruses, or malicious code.
• Upload files that you do not have the right to process (e.g. copyrighted material you do not own or have permission to modify).
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service.
• Use automated tools to exceed usage limits or circumvent quotas.
• Upload files containing illegal content, including child sexual abuse material.
• Use the Service to process confidential or regulated data (e.g. HIPAA-protected health records) without appropriate safeguards.

3. Your files

You retain full ownership of all files you upload. By uploading a file, you grant pdftoolz a temporary, limited licence to process that file solely for the purpose of delivering the requested output. This licence expires when the file is deleted (within 2 hours of upload).

4. Free and Pro tiers

Guest users (no account) may perform up to 2 operations per day with a 10 MB file size limit. Free account holders may perform up to 10 operations per hour with a 25 MB file size limit. Pro subscribers have unlimited operations and a 200 MB file size limit, subject to fair use. We reserve the right to adjust limits at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Pro subscriptions and billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new Pro subscriptions. Refunds after 7 days are at our discretion.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output files will be perfect representations of the input. PDF processing involves complex file formats; results may vary depending on the source document.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, pdftoolz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or documents. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
